Lyons captured its first girls 2A team title since 2014 with a 15-43 victory over Platte Canyon at the Colorado High School Activities Association state meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Junior Katie Fankhouser won the individual title, covering the 5-kilometer course in 19:24.5, with freshman teammate Quin Gregg taking second in 19:36.7. Sophomore Hannah Thomas secured the team championship by finishing 12th in 21:09, with only the top three athletes in a lineup scoring in 2A. Senior Kylee Udovich was 19th in 21:42.8, junior Alora Cross took 48th in 23:09.9 and senior Jewel Thomas earned 53rd in 23:27.6 for Lyons, which placed third last season.
