The Classical Academy senior Katie Flaherty, freshman Kennedy McDonald and junior Rebecca Thompson finished fifth, seventh and ninth in the girls 3A final at the Colorado High School Activities Association state meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Flaherty covered the 5-kilometer course in 19:02.6, McDonald ran 19:10.4 and Thompson clocked 19:14.4 for The Classical Academy, which won its first girls team championship since 2012 and 10th overall with a 34-97 victory over Peak to Peak.
